Playa el Palmar is a wonderful picturesque beach you will not soon forget. It is located adjacent to hotel row and in walking distance of the town of Ixtapa. Beach area is clean and expansive. Interestingly, if you pause long enough to examine the waves you can see sting rays skimming the waves. In the mornings you can easily catch sting rays leaping out of the water. It’s fun to watch. The sun rises are beautiful, and the sun sets are stunning. The beach also offers one-hour massages at a fraction of cost of a hotel massage. We were skeptical at first, but after meeting numerous vacationers who were on their way to get a massage, we decided to try it and we’re glad we did. We have enjoyed many massages while vacationing, but this massage is the best ever for the money, and all the while the only ambient sound heard is the crashing of the waves onto the shore. It left us feeling great and became a daily ritual or us. There are two massage locations on the beach. One is on the East end of the beach, which we were told cost more, and the other is on the West end, which we used. For these reasons, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time on the beach.
